The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) has chosen Wally Mlynarski, Elavon Chief Product Officer, for its inaugural Forty Under 40, highlighting gamechangers at the intersection of payments and technology. The roster includes individuals working across the evolving segments of the industry and highlights those whose actions and leadership are driving the payments industry forward.

The impressive group includes founders, analysts, reporters, and C-level executives whose organizations represent everything from digital wallets to omnichannel to AI and machine learning. The Forty Under 40 will be featured in ETA’s flagship magazine, Transaction Trends, and recognized during the Visa President’s Dinner at TRANSACT, the premier event for payment industry professionals, April 17-19 in Las Vegas.

“ETA’s first Forty Under 40 class is growing the industry at an unprecedented pace,” said Jason Oxman, CEO of ETA. “Each one possesses a unique skillset, allowing them to identify and shape key segments of the payments ecosystem. The caliber and impact of their work is exceptional and demonstrates their commitment to the industry.”

Mlynarski has served as an innovative leader in the payments industry for more than eight years, developing, delivering and supporting industry-leading mobile and enterprise product portfolios.

A driving force within Elavon for the last six years, Mlynarski led a team in developing Elavon’s innovation center, The Grove, focused on harvesting innovation in and around payments to help merchants grow their business.

Mlynarski was instrumental in establishing Elavon’s global product strategy and leading the company to be the number one acquirer for EMV adoption in the United States. Under his leadership, the Product & Innovation team has launched a growing portfolio of global solutions that support the requirements of today’s omnicommerce business environment.

“These are accomplishments of my team, and I can’t take credit for these alone,” says Mlynarski. “I do not accomplish anything without my team.”

In addition, Mlynarski is cultivating young talent and bringing smart and innovative new blood into the industry by collaborating with the Georgia Institute of Technology, his alma mater. He also serves as a guest speaker and collaborator with Georgia Tech Associate Professor, Karthik Ramachandran, in his Disruptive Innovations class in the Technology and Management courses.
